Wi-Fi QR Code Generator

Create a free Wi-Fi QR code and let your family, friends, or guests connect to your wireless network without typing a long password. Enter your Wi-Fi network name, select its security type, and provide the password. Our generator creates a scannable QR code that you can download, print, or share.

The tool works with standard Wi-Fi network details, whether you use a PTCL router, Flash Fiber ONT, or another compatible wireless router in Pakistan.

Create a Wi-Fi QR Code

Enter your Wi-Fi details to make a QR code guests can scan to join your network.

Network details

Enter the exact name, including capital letters.
Use the actual Wi-Fi password, not the router admin login.

Your Wi-Fi QR code

Your QR code will appear here.

Privacy & security: QR creation happens in your browser; this tool does not send your network name or password to a QR API. A Wi-Fi QR code contains the connection details, including the password for protected networks. Share the QR code only with people you trust. Other scripts installed on your website may have access to form entries.

How to Generate a Wi-Fi QR Code

Creating a QR code for your wireless network takes just a few steps.

  1. Enter your Wi-Fi name (SSID). Type the exact network name shown in your phone’s Wi-Fi settings. Capital letters, spaces, and special characters matter.
  2. Choose the security type. Select WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Personal for a typical password-protected home network. Choose Open Network only if your Wi-Fi has no password.
  3. Enter your Wi-Fi password. Use the password people normally enter to connect to Wi-Fi, not your router’s administration password.
  4. Select the hidden-network option if needed. Enable this only when your router is configured not to broadcast its network name.
  5. Click Generate QR Code. Your Wi-Fi QR code will appear alongside the form.
  6. Download or print the code. Save it as PNG or SVG, or use the Print option.

Before sharing it, scan the generated code with another device to confirm that the network details are correct.

How to Connect to Wi-Fi Using a QR Code

On Android Phones

On a compatible Android phone, open the Camera app or the QR scanner available through the device’s Wi-Fi settings or Quick Settings.

Point the camera at the Wi-Fi QR code and follow the connection prompt. The phone may join the network after you confirm.

The exact steps depend on the Android version and phone manufacturer. If scanning is unavailable, open Wi-Fi settings and connect by entering the password manually.

On iPhone

Open the Camera app on your iPhone and point it at the QR code. If the phone recognizes the Wi-Fi details, follow the on-screen prompt to join the network.

You can also try the Code Scanner in Control Center. Recognition and connection behavior depend on your iPhone’s software and network configuration.

Important: The receiving device must be within range of the wireless network. Scanning a QR code does not extend Wi-Fi coverage or provide an internet connection when the network itself is offline.

Where Can You Use a Wi-Fi QR Code?

A Wi-Fi QR code is useful whenever you want to give someone network access without repeatedly spelling out a password.

At home: Let trusted visitors connect to your home Wi-Fi without manually entering a complicated password.

In offices: Put a QR code for a separate guest network at reception, where authorized visitors can easily scan it.

In cafés and guesthouses: Display a printed code where customers can find it, provided the network is intended for public guest access.

On printed information cards: Download the QR code and include it on a guest information sheet or welcome card.

For businesses and frequent visitors, a properly isolated guest network is generally preferable to sharing access to your main private network.

Is It Safe to Generate and Share a Wi-Fi QR Code?

The NetTools Pakistan Wi-Fi QR Code Generator creates the QR image in your browser. Its QR-generation function does not upload the SSID or password to an external QR-code API.

However, a Wi-Fi QR code is not a way to encrypt or hide your password. For password-protected networks, the QR code contains connection credentials that can be decoded by anyone who obtains the image.

Keep these precautions in mind:

  • Share the QR code only with people authorized to access the network.
  • Avoid posting a QR code for your private home network publicly.
  • Use a separate guest Wi-Fi network when practical.
  • Do not use your router administration password as the Wi-Fi password.
  • Generate a new QR code whenever you change the network password.

The generator’s local processing does not control other scripts installed on the webpage or extensions in the visitor’s browser.

Which Wi-Fi Security Types Are Supported?

The generator provides three security options.

Security optionWhen to select it
WPA/WPA2/WPA3 PersonalMost modern password-protected home Wi-Fi networks
Open NetworkWi-Fi networks without a connection password
WEPOlder networks still using legacy WEP security

WPA2 or WPA3 Personal is preferable for a modern home network when supported by your router and devices. WEP is outdated and should not be enabled simply to make QR scanning work.

The generator uses a common Wi-Fi QR format. Individual phones may handle WPA3-only configurations, hidden networks, or unusual security settings differently.

Why Is My Wi-Fi QR Code Not Working?

If your phone scans the QR code but does not connect, check the following.

Incorrect Wi-Fi Name or Password

Ensure the SSID and password match your router settings exactly. Even a small spelling difference can prevent a successful connection.

Wrong Security Type

Make sure the security option matches your wireless network. If the network uses WPA2 Personal, choose the combined WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Personal option.

Phone Cannot Read the QR Code

Try increasing screen brightness, holding the camera steady, or displaying the QR code at a larger size. If you printed it, make sure the image is sharp, undamaged, and has sufficient white space around it.

Wi-Fi Network Is Out of Range

Move closer to your router and check whether its Wi-Fi network appears in the phone’s available networks.

Password Has Changed

A previously generated QR code still contains the old password. Create a new code with the updated credentials.

Device Does Not Support the Connection Method

Some older devices or particular security configurations may not support joining Wi-Fi through this QR format. Try connecting manually through the phone’s Wi-Fi settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I generate a Wi-Fi QR code without knowing the password?

For a password-protected network, you need its correct Wi-Fi password to create a useful QR code. This generator cannot discover or retrieve your password from the router.

Does this work with PTCL and Flash Fiber routers?

Yes, it can encode the Wi-Fi details used by PTCL and Flash Fiber routers, as well as other standard wireless routers. Successful connections depend on the network configuration and scanning device.

Can I download the Wi-Fi QR code?

Yes. The generator provides PNG and SVG download options. You can also print the generated code.

Does a Wi-Fi QR code expire?

The QR image itself has no built-in expiry date. It may stop connecting devices if you change the network name, password, or security settings.

Can I create a Wi-Fi QR code for a hidden network?

Yes. Select the hidden-network checkbox before generating the code. Connection support still depends on the scanning device and router configuration.
