Find out how much you actually pay for every gigabyte of internet data. Our free Internet Cost per GB Calculator helps you calculate your effective data cost in Pakistani rupees (PKR) using your internet bill and actual data consumption.
Whether you use home broadband, fiber internet, a mobile data package, or a limited-data connection, you can estimate your cost per GB without needing to register or connect to your internet provider.
Find your effective internet cost per GB in Pakistani rupees. Enter what you paid and how much data you used over the same period. Enter your bill and data usage above to calculate your cost. Calculated using decimal GB (1 GB = 1,000 MB). GiB uses binary units. Figures are arithmetic estimates based only on your inputs, not live ISP tariffs. For example, if a hypothetical bill is Rs. 3,000 and usage is 150 GB, the effective cost is Rs. 20 per GB. If that plan includes 200 GB, its allowance-based cost is Rs. 15 per included GB, while the cost based on data actually used remains Rs. 20 per GB. Actual usage tells you how much you paid for each GB you really consumed. Allowance-based cost divides the same bill by the plan's included data, whether or not you used it. Unlimited home broadband plans have no fixed allowance, so compare them using actual usage only. The result does not measure internet speed, verify your provider's billing, account for unentered top-ups or predict future consumption. Costs are not directly comparable if you enter amounts for different dates, or if your connection bundles TV, voice or other services into the total bill. Privacy and independence: This calculator performs arithmetic in your browser. The plugin does not send these entries to an external API, save them in WordPress or provide official PTCL or other ISP pricing. Your website may have its own analytics or browser extensions, which are outside this calculator's control.Internet Cost per GB Calculator

What this calculator cannot tell you
How Much Does 1 GB of Internet Cost?
The cost of 1 GB depends on your total internet expense and how much data you consume.
Use this formula:
Cost per GB = Total Internet Cost ÷ Total Data Used in GB
For example, suppose you pay Rs. 2,400 for an internet package and consume 120 GB during the billing period.
- Total internet cost: Rs. 2,400
- Actual data consumption: 120 GB
- Effective cost per GB: Rs. 20
If the same package includes a 200 GB data allowance, its cost per included GB would be Rs. 12. However, because you consumed only 120 GB, your effective cost based on actual usage remains Rs. 20 per GB.
These figures are illustrative calculations, not advertised prices for any particular Pakistani internet provider.
Understanding Your Calculator Results
The calculator provides several useful measurements.
Effective Cost per GB
This is the amount you paid for each decimal gigabyte you actually consumed. It is often the most useful figure when reviewing your monthly internet expenses.
Cost per GiB
A gibibyte (GiB) uses binary measurement, while a gigabyte (GB) uses decimal measurement.
One GiB equals approximately 1.074 GB. The calculator displays both figures to help you understand differences in data measurement units.
Cost per 100 GB
This figure shows what 100 GB would cost at your calculated average rate. It is a comparison estimate, not a prediction of your next bill or an actual package price.
Data Allowance Usage
If you enter an included data allowance, the calculator also shows what percentage of that allowance you consumed and the cost per included GB.
This can help you understand whether you are making full use of a capped internet package.
How to Compare Internet Packages by Cost per GB
A lower price per GB can indicate better value for someone who regularly consumes large amounts of data. However, the calculation should not be your only consideration.
When comparing packages from PTCL or other internet service providers in Pakistan, check the following:
- Total bill: Include applicable taxes, recurring fees, and additional data charges where relevant.
- Billing period: Compare daily, weekly, and monthly packages over equivalent periods.
- Data allowance: Check whether the package has a fixed limit, a fair usage policy, or additional charges beyond a threshold.
- Connection quality: Consider download speed, upload speed, reliability, and latency alongside cost.
- Bundled services: If your bill includes television, telephone, or other services, the result represents the combined amount unless you can separate the internet charge.
A cheap package per GB may still be unsuitable if its performance, data limits, or coverage do not meet your needs.
Can You Calculate Cost per GB for Unlimited Internet?
Yes. You can calculate an effective cost per GB for an unlimited internet package using the amount you paid and the data you actually consumed.
For an unlimited plan, leave the optional data allowance field empty.
Your effective cost per GB may decrease during months when you use more data, even if your subscription price stays the same.
This does not mean the provider has changed its tariff. It simply reflects how much of the service you used during that billing period.
Where Can You Check Your Internet Data Usage?
Depending on your internet provider and equipment, you may be able to find data usage information through your ISP account dashboard, mobile application, router administration interface, or your device’s network settings.
Keep in mind that usage shown on an individual phone or computer may not represent total household consumption. A router’s statistics may also reset after a restart or may not cover the full billing period.
For the most useful calculation, enter usage figures that match the dates covered by your bill or recharge.
Internet Data Usage vs. Internet Speed
Internet data consumption and connection speed are different measurements.
GB (gigabytes) measures an amount of data downloaded or uploaded. Mbps (megabits per second) measures a rate of data transfer.
For example, a 20 Mbps connection describes a speed, not a monthly data allowance. You cannot determine your actual monthly cost per GB from the advertised Mbps speed alone.
To calculate your effective internet cost, you need the total amount paid and the amount of data consumed.
Important Calculator Limitations
This calculator uses the numbers you provide. It does not automatically access your PTCL account, retrieve your internet bill, measure live data usage, or verify current ISP package prices.
The calculator performs its arithmetic in your browser. Its WordPress plugin does not intentionally transmit your entered figures to an external calculation API or store them in the WordPress database. Other website services, including analytics tools, may operate separately.
NetTools Pakistan is an independent internet information and tools website and is not an official service of PTCL or any other internet provider.
Use your calculated cost per GB alongside connection performance, coverage, data policies, and your actual needs when deciding which internet package offers better value.
