Use our free IPv4 Address Checker to see the IPv4 address visible to this website and check whether an IPv4 address is valid. You can also identify private, shared, and special-use addresses, including those commonly found on home routers and internet connections in Pakistan.
The checker provides readable results without requiring registration or installing software.
See the IPv4 address this website observes, or check whether an address you enter is valid. Reported by this website's server, not detected from your router. Requesting the address observed by our server. A VPN, proxy, CDN or shared ISP gateway can affect the reported address. If the request uses IPv6, an IPv4-only endpoint is needed to check the IPv4 path reliably. Enter four decimal numbers between 0 and 255, separated by dots.IPv4 Address Checker

What Is an IPv4 Address?
An IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4) address is a 32-bit numerical address used to identify network interfaces and help deliver data across IP networks.
IPv4 addresses are commonly written as four decimal numbers separated by dots. Each number must be between 0 and 255.
For example, 192.168.1.1 is a valid IPv4 address commonly used on private home networks.
Not every IPv4 address is publicly reachable. Some addresses are reserved for local networks, testing, documentation, or special networking purposes.
How to Use the IPv4 Address Checker
Our checker provides two functions: detecting the IPv4 address observed by the website and validating an IPv4 address you enter manually.
Check Your Observed IPv4 Address
- Open the IPv4 Address Checker.
- The tool automatically requests the address visible to the website’s server.
- If an IPv4 address is observed, it appears in the results.
- Select Copy IPv4 to copy the displayed address.
- Select Check again to request a new result.
The displayed address represents the source visible to the server for that request. It may be the address of a network gateway, VPN, proxy, or other intermediary rather than an address assigned directly to your device.
If the request reaches the server over IPv6, the tool may display IPv4 not determined. That does not necessarily mean your connection lacks IPv4 support.
Validate an IPv4 Address
You can also enter an IPv4 address manually.
For example, enter 192.168.1.1 and select Check address.
The checker examines the format, identifies common address categories, and displays the address in several numerical representations.
For valid addresses, the results include:
- Normalized IPv4 address
- Address category and explanation
- Unsigned 32-bit integer
- Hexadecimal representation
- Binary representation
Manual validation runs in your browser. It checks address syntax and classifications without scanning or connecting to the entered address.
Understanding Your IPv4 Checker Results
The type of IPv4 address matters because not every valid address can be used for ordinary public internet communication.
| Address example | Classification | What it means |
|---|---|---|
192.168.1.1 | Private | Commonly used inside home or office networks |
10.0.0.1 | Private | Used within private networks |
100.64.0.1 | Shared / CGNAT | Belongs to shared address space used by service providers |
127.0.0.1 | Loopback | Refers to the local computer |
169.254.1.1 | Link-local | Used for communication on a local network link |
192.0.2.1 | Documentation | Reserved for technical examples |
These are illustrative addresses, not detected user results.
The tool may also identify multicast, broadcast, benchmarking, and reserved address ranges. An address outside the common special-use ranges checked by the tool is labeled a public-range candidate. That classification does not prove the address is allocated, reachable, or owned by a particular organization.
Public IPv4 vs Private IPv4 Addresses
Public and private IPv4 addresses serve different purposes.
A public IPv4 address is an internet-facing address intended for communication across public IP networks. A globally reachable address may be assigned to an internet connection or used by shared network infrastructure.
A private IPv4 address is used within local networks, such as a home Wi-Fi connection.
For example, your router might use 192.168.1.1, while websites see a different IPv4 address for your connection.
Network Address Translation (NAT) allows multiple devices using private addresses to access the internet through another address.
The automatic checker reports what this website observes. It cannot directly discover your computer’s private IPv4 address or your router’s WAN address.
What Is CGNAT, and Why Does It Matter?
Carrier-Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT) allows internet service providers to share public IPv4 addresses across multiple customer connections.
The IPv4 range 100.64.0.0/10, covering 100.64.0.0 through 100.127.255.255, is designated as shared address space.
CGNAT can affect applications that require unsolicited incoming connections, including some remote-access services, self-hosted servers, and gaming configurations.
To investigate whether your connection uses CGNAT, compare the WAN IPv4 address displayed by your router with the IPv4 address observed by this checker.
If your router displays an address in the shared CGNAT range while the website observes a different public address, that strongly suggests upstream address translation.
A difference alone is not conclusive, however. VPNs, multiple NAT devices, and proxies can also change the address visible to websites.
If you need a directly reachable public IPv4 address, ask your internet service provider whether one is available for your connection.
Why Is My IPv4 Address Not Showing?
There are several reasons the automatic check might not display an IPv4 address.
Your connection used IPv6: The browser may have connected to the website using IPv6. An IPv4-specific endpoint is needed to test the IPv4 route reliably.
The request failed: A temporary connection problem, server restriction, or blocked endpoint can prevent the tool from receiving a response.
A proxy or CDN is involved: The server may observe an intermediary address rather than your original client address.
The request timed out: Try checking again after confirming that your internet connection is working.
You can still use the manual validator even when automatic detection is unavailable.
How to Find Your Private IPv4 Address
The automatic checker shows a server-observed address. To identify the address assigned to your own device, check its network settings.
On Windows
- Open Command Prompt.
- Type
ipconfigand press Enter. - Find the active Wi-Fi or Ethernet adapter.
- Look for the IPv4 Address entry.
On Android
Open your Wi-Fi settings, select your connected network, and look for the IP address under network details or advanced settings. The exact menu varies by device manufacturer and Android version.
On Your Wi-Fi Router
Sign in to your router’s administration interface and inspect the LAN or connected-device information. The WAN or internet-status section normally displays a different address associated with the router’s upstream connection.
Router menus vary by manufacturer and firmware. Never share your router administration password with an IP checking website.
Is This IPv4 Checker Safe to Use?
The NetTools Pakistan IPv4 Address Checker uses this website’s own WordPress endpoint for automatic address detection rather than a third-party IP lookup API.
The manual validator checks the address you enter in your browser and does not perform port scanning, network discovery, or IP ownership lookups.
As with ordinary website visits, the hosting server, content delivery network, or security services may process and log connection IP addresses. The checker does not guarantee that an address is anonymous or that an IP address identifies a particular person.
An IPv4 address alone cannot reliably establish your precise physical location, personal identity, or internet subscription details.
Check and Understand Your Connection
Your IPv4 address can help when troubleshooting networking problems, comparing router WAN information, or communicating with your internet service provider.
Use the automatic checker to view the address visible to this website, and use manual validation to understand an address you already have.
Remember that an IPv4 address check is not an internet speed test, network scan, or proof of IPv4 connectivity across every internet destination.
NetTools Pakistan is an independent internet connectivity resource and is not an official PTCL or Pakistan Telecommunication Authority service.
