Domain Availability Checker

Check whether a domain name is already registered before choosing it for your website, blog, online store, or business.

Our Domain Availability Checker searches registration records for supported domain extensions, including .com, .net, and .org. It helps you identify names that already have registration records and names that need further verification.

Enter your preferred domain below to begin. The results are informational and do not guarantee that a domain can be purchased.

Domain registration lookup

Check a domain name

See whether a domain has a registration record. A missing record does not guarantee that a name can be registered.

Enter a registration domain without https:// or a page path, rather than a subdomain such as www.example.com. Internationalized names need server support for IDN conversion.

How this works: The lookup uses registration data (RDAP) where supported. This is not a purchase or reservation service. For .pk and .com.pk, use the official PKNIC domain search.

The domain you submit is sent to this website and may be sent to the applicable registry's RDAP service for lookup. Registry errors, restrictions or reserved names can prevent a definitive answer.

How to Check Domain Availability

Checking a domain name takes a few simple steps:

  1. Enter your domain name: Type your preferred name, such as mybusiness.com, in the search field.
  2. Click Check Domain: The checker contacts an appropriate registration-data service where supported.
  3. Review the result: Find out whether a registration record was returned or whether further checking is needed.
  4. Confirm with a registrar: Before purchasing, check the domain’s actual registration eligibility, price, and applicable restrictions.

Enter only the domain name. Do not include https://, www., or a page address.

Understanding Your Domain Check Results

Different lookup responses have different meanings.

ResultWhat It Means
Registration Record FoundA registration record exists for the domain. It should not be treated as available for new registration.
No Registration Record FoundThe lookup did not find a record. The domain may still be reserved, restricted, or unavailable.
No Supported RDAP ServiceThe checker cannot automatically retrieve registration information for that extension.
Availability Not ConfirmedA service error, response restriction, or other issue prevented a conclusive result.

Important: No registration record found does not mean the domain is definitely available to buy. Always confirm with a domain registrar or the relevant registry.

Check .pk and .com.pk Domain Availability in Pakistan

Planning to launch a Pakistani website? You may want a domain ending in .pk or .com.pk.

The .pk namespace is administered by PKNIC, Pakistan’s domain registry.

Our checker does not currently perform an automated availability check for Pakistani domain extensions because IANA does not list a public RDAP service for .pk.

To check Pakistani domain names:

  1. Visit the official PKNIC website.
  2. Find its domain lookup or search facility.
  3. Enter your preferred .pk or .com.pk name.
  4. Review the result and applicable registration requirements.

You can also consult PKNIC’s official domain registration guidance.

How Does the Domain Availability Checker Work?

The tool uses the Registration Data Access Protocol (RDAP), a standardized system for accessing domain registration information.

When you submit a domain name, the checker identifies a relevant RDAP service using the official IANA service directory, where one is available. It then requests registration information for the entered domain.

If a matching registration record is returned, the checker identifies the domain as registered. If the registry responds that no record was found, the checker reports that result without guaranteeing availability.

This is different from a DNS lookup. DNS records help direct internet traffic, while registration records help establish whether a domain is registered.

A domain can be registered even when its website does not open or it has no publicly visible website.

For more information about registration data, visit ICANN’s RDAP information page.

Things to Check Before Registering a Domain

Finding a promising domain name is only part of the process. Before making a purchase, consider the following:

  • Name and spelling: Choose a name that visitors can type and remember easily.
  • Domain extension: Select an extension suited to your audience and purpose.
  • Trademark conflicts: Check whether the proposed name could infringe another organization’s rights.
  • Registration and renewal prices: Review initial charges, renewal fees, and any premium pricing.
  • Registration restrictions: Some domain extensions have eligibility rules or reserved names.

If your preferred domain is already registered, consider a different name or an appropriate alternative extension.

Is This Domain Checker Free to Use?

You can submit domain registration lookups using the checker without purchasing a domain through NetTools Pakistan.

This tool does not sell, reserve, transfer, or register domain names. Domain registration is handled separately by registrars and registries, which may charge fees and apply eligibility conditions.

Privacy and Lookup Limitations

When you enter a domain, the request is processed by this website and may be forwarded to an external RDAP service. Server logs and temporary cached results may exist, depending on the website and service configuration.

Some domain extensions are unsupported, and external services may occasionally reject requests, impose limits, or become temporarily unavailable.

For important registration decisions, always verify availability directly with an authorized registrar or the relevant registry.
