Not sure how much mobile internet data you need? Our free Mobile Internet Package Data Planner helps you estimate the data allowance required for a daily, weekly, or monthly package in Pakistan.
Whether you use mobile data for WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, online classes, video calls, or working from home, you can estimate your usage and compare packages before subscribing.
Enter your typical daily activities or use your phone’s recorded data consumption. The planner calculates your estimated requirements in gigabytes (GB), adds an optional safety margin, and helps you identify suitable package allowances.
Mobile Internet Package Data Planner
Estimate how much mobile data you need, then check whether the packages you enter can cover it. No operator prices or data plans are assumed.

Enter the validity period and your preferred safety margin.
“Similar users” multiplies the daily usage estimate. For different usage habits, calculate separately and add the totals. The safety margin helps cover variability.

Rates below are editable planning examples, not measured rates for your apps or network. Actual consumption changes with quality, autoplay, updates and data-saver settings.
| Activity | Minutes/day per user | Assumed MB/hour edit as needed | Period usage GB, all users |

For perspective, Netflix's official guidance gives up to 0.7 GB/hour for medium-quality streaming and up to 3 GB/hour for HD. This does not establish rates for YouTube, TikTok or other services.
Use your phone's mobile data statistics or your carrier's data usage records, ideally covering several typical days. Enter usage for one typical user.
Optional: app downloads, software updates, hotspot traffic or other usage not included above. This amount is added once, not per day.

Check validity, taxes, fair-use limits, social-only data, night-only quota and network restrictions with the operator. Split quotas do not necessarily equal general-purpose GB.
How this mobile data planner works
The planner multiplies daily minutes by your chosen MB-per-hour assumptions, then by package days and the number of similar users. It adds any one-off data, then applies a percentage safety margin. For example, 60 minutes at 700 MB/hour for 7 days equals 4.9 GB before any margin. The alternative mode calculates from your actual average GB/day.
This calculator does not read your SIM balance, phone data usage, browsing history or active mobile package. It does not check network speeds or obtain real-time offers. Calculations remain in the browser; they are not transmitted to PTCLSpeedTest by this tool. Browser extensions and other scripts on a website operate independently.
For a more accurate estimate, review your Android mobile data settings or your iPhone's cellular data statistics and compare them against the billing or package period. Check your operator's official app or website before purchasing a package.
PTCLSpeedTest is an independent internet information website, not an official PTCL, PTA or mobile network operator service.
How to Use the Mobile Data Planner
The calculator works with your own usage estimates. You do not need to register, connect your SIM, or provide personal account information.
- Select your package period. Enter how many days the package should last. You can plan for 1 to 365 days and include multiple users with similar usage habits.
- Enter your mobile internet activities. Select the activity-based method and adjust the minutes spent browsing, watching videos, using social media, listening to music, or making video calls. Alternatively, choose Known GB per day if you already know your average consumption.
- Include additional data and a safety margin. Add one-time usage for downloads, updates, or hotspot activity. Adjust the percentage buffer to account for unexpected consumption.
- Compare available packages. Enter the general-purpose data allowances and optional prices of up to three packages. The planner shows which entered packages meet your estimated requirement.
Your results update when you change the inputs. You can also use the Copy summary button to save your calculation.
How Much Mobile Internet Data Do You Need?
Your data requirement depends on what you do online, how long you spend doing it, and the settings used by your apps.
Text messaging and basic browsing generally require less data than continuous video streaming. Video resolution, autoplay, background downloads, and automatic app updates can significantly affect consumption.
For example, Netflix’s official guidance indicates that medium-quality streaming can use up to 0.7 GB per hour, while HD streaming can use up to 3 GB per hour. These figures apply to Netflix’s described quality settings, not every streaming application.
The calculator uses editable activity rates rather than assuming all applications consume the same amount of data.
Example: Estimating a Weekly Data Package
Suppose you watch one hour of medium-quality video every day for seven days and use an assumed rate of 700 MB per hour.
- Daily consumption: 700 MB (0.7 GB)
- Seven-day consumption: 4.9 GB
- Additional 20% safety margin: 0.98 GB
- Total estimated requirement: 5.88 GB
- Planner’s rounded suggestion: 6 GB
In this example, an unrestricted 6 GB allowance would cover the estimated amount. A larger package could provide additional flexibility, especially when your daily activity varies.
This is an illustrative calculation, not a measurement of your phone’s actual consumption.
How the Calculator Estimates Data Usage
In activity mode, the planner multiplies your daily usage time by the estimated megabytes consumed per hour.
Activity data (GB) = (Minutes per day ÷ 60) × MB per hour × Package days × Similar users ÷ 1,000
It adds all activity totals and any one-time additional data. Your chosen safety margin is then applied to the combined estimate.
The final suggested allowance is rounded upward to the next 0.5 GB. This makes comparison easier but does not mean operators sell packages in those exact increments.
The calculator uses decimal units, where 1 GB equals 1,000 MB.
If several people share one mobile connection or hotspot, account for their combined consumption. For users with very different habits, calculate their requirements separately and add the results.
Check Your Actual Mobile Data Usage
If you have used mobile internet regularly, your phone’s recorded usage can provide a better starting point than general activity assumptions.
On Android Phones
Open your phone’s Settings and look for Network & internet, SIMs, Mobile network, or Data usage. The exact menu varies by manufacturer and Android version.
Review your mobile data consumption over a typical period. Where available, check which applications use the most data.
Google’s mobile data usage guide explains the process for Pixel devices.
On iPhone
Open Settings and select Cellular or Mobile Data, depending on your device’s language and software version.
Review usage statistics for individual applications. Remember that the displayed current period may not match your package’s validity dates, particularly if the statistics have not been reset recently.
See Apple’s official mobile data usage instructions.
For the most accurate package-specific remaining balance, consult your mobile operator’s official app or account service.
Choosing the Right Mobile Internet Package in Pakistan
The planner can help you assess packages from Jazz, Zong, Ufone, Telenor, and other providers, but you must enter their current allowances and prices yourself.
When comparing offers, pay attention to the type of data included. A package advertising 30 GB may divide that allowance between general internet use, selected social applications, and particular hours of the day.
For example, 10 GB of general-purpose data plus 20 GB restricted to selected apps should not be treated as 30 GB of unrestricted internet.
Also check whether packages have the same validity period, whether their prices include applicable taxes, and whether fair-use or other conditions apply.
If you enter package prices, the calculator can identify the lowest-priced qualifying option among the packages you supplied with prices. It does not search the market or guarantee that this is the cheapest available mobile package.
Why Your Actual Data Usage May Differ
A data planner provides a forecast, not an exact prediction. Usage can change because of video quality, automatic media downloads, software updates, cloud backups, background app activity, and mobile hotspot sharing.
Data transferred over Wi-Fi is generally separate from cellular data usage, although some phones can switch to mobile data when Wi-Fi connectivity is weak or unavailable.
For more reliable planning, review several days of actual cellular usage and adjust the calculator’s assumptions to reflect your habits.
About This Mobile Data Planner
The NetTools Pakistan Mobile Internet Package Data Planner is an independent estimation tool. It does not read your SIM balance, access your mobile account, detect existing package subscriptions, retrieve live operator prices, or measure internet speed.
The calculator performs its calculations within your browser without sending the entered planning details to a calculation server. Other website services or scripts may operate independently.
Before buying a package: Verify its price, validity, unrestricted data allowance, network eligibility, and applicable conditions directly with the provider.
